A buyer may need material ground to specific finished diameter with a tight tolerance, cut to exact lengths, heat treated to condition, and/or tested. Then it will require documentation and delivery under customer-centric requirements. Those requirements affect source selection, processing route, certification and lead time.
Michlin’s team reviews the specifications, product forms, dimensions, quantities, conditions, as well as documentation and processing requirements before committing to the quote. If a listed item is not currently on the shelf, Michlin can make it or produce it to the customer’s exact requirements—from a single piece through a full mill run.

Hard-to-find metal, steel, alloys across demanding industries
Specialty & high-temperature alloys
Nickel, cobalt and iron-base alloys including: Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Waspaloy, A286, MP35N, L605, Alloy X-750, Kovar, Invar, Aermet and maraging steels.
Stainless & alloy steels
300 & 400 series stainless steels, precipitation-hardening (PH) & duplex grades, aircraft-quality alloy steels (AQ), carbon steel and other difficult-to-source metals and steel.
Aluminum, titanium & copper alloys
Aerospace and commercial aluminum, titanium, brass, copper and bronze grades supplied to the form, temper and specification stated on the purchase order.
Common forms: round bar, hex bar, flat bar, square bar, sheet, plate, tubing, pipe, forgings, coil and wire. Availability and specification compliance are confirmed at time of quotation.
VALUE-ADDED PROCESSING
Cover material, processing, shipping with a single PO
When processing is required, Michlin manages the requirement through qualified outside providers so the customer can source the material and required services through one coordinated purchase order. This eliminates the need to issue multiple POs and arrange multiple shipments.
PRECISION SIZING
Coordinated centerless or precision grinding, drawn to size requirements and tight tolerance finished dimensions.
CUTTING & MACHINING
Coordinated cut to length material, sawing, turning, drilling, boring, honing and trepanning as specified in the quotation.
HEAT TREATMENT
Heat treatment to specified conditions through qualified resources, including NADCAP approved sources when the order requires them.
FINISH & PREPARATION
Coordinated polishing, surface finish requirements, testing, packaging and direct shipment planning.
QUALITY & COMPLIANCE
Traceability is part of the material
Michlin supplies prime material with certification and maintains traceability from melt source through delivery. A Certificate of Conformance and full Material Test Reports are supplied with every shipment. DFARS-compliant and domestic-melt sourcing options are available when required and confirmed on the quotation.
