6061 is an Aluminum Alloy with some of the following tempers and conditions: T6 – T651 – T6511 – T4

Sometimes the temper with 6061-T6 has commercial specs which dictate a rapid cool from hot working as a solution treatment. For applications in aerospace it’s usually a requirement that solution treatment is performed by the mill using their furnace for this process.
