347 Stainless Steel is an austenitic stainless steel that contains chromium and nickel. This material is stabilized by a columbium and tantalum combination. The additions of these elements promotes improved inter-granular corrosion resistance. 347 stainless is non magnetic and has similar corrosion resistance to 304 stainless steel.

In strongly oxidizing environments 347 offers slightly better resistance to corrosion to 321. Depending on the form, plate, sheet or bar, the grain size and amount of carbon could possibly meet the 347H and 347S requirements.

347 stainless steel can be used in oil and gas, heater tubes, reactor equipment and many other applications.
