What’s up guys?!?!?! This is Michael with Michael Talks Metal back again with some more metal talk! I’ve been asking for those of you watching to be kind enough and subscribe. That works sometimes but I want to change it up today. COMMENT! Comment on this video and I will respond. Give me a really great comment and like my boys say from YouTube Channel How Ridiculous, WEEEEEEEE”LLLLLLLL PIN YA!!!! They get 10s of thousands of comments so they need to pin one to make it stay on top. I on the other hand get very few comments so pinning won’t be necessary, it was just super fun to say!!!!! Let’s jump in….

Today’s topic is another Nickel based alloy….  Hastelloy C-276 when produced by Haynes International   or just alloy C-276 when produced by other mills.

So what is Hastelloy C-276? Well, it’s primarily Nickel with Chromium,  Molybdenum, Tungsten, and Iron as the major alloying elements.  The UNS designation for the chemical composition is N10276.

A solid solution strengthened material, it cannot be further strengthened by heat treatment and its austenitic structure is non- magnetic. Typical solution annealing temperature range  is 2100 t0 2150 deg F.

With excellent corrosion resistance in  many aggressive environments;  this alloy is often used chemical processing, pollution control, waste treatment, pulp and paper production, and sour gas oilfield equipment. It also finds applications in marine environments where crevice corrosion is an issue.
