What’s up guys? Michael with Metals in a Minute. AMS 5903 is a specification for type 302 stainless steel. Nominal Chromium content is 18%
and nominal Nickel content is 9%. The SAE designation is 30302 and the UNS designation is
S30200. Common applications are for components requiring strength and corrosion resistance. It is not
recommended for welding applications. Product is in the form of Sheet, Strip, and Plate in the solution treated (aka solution annealed)
cold worked condition. Minimum mechanical properties are 125 KSI tensile strength and 75 KSI yield strength.
